Ordering electronic editions of Standards Technology Publications (STP) online enables you to immediately download your publication (Adobe Acrobat PDF) to any one computer. All files are fully searchable.

ASME encrypted C&S PDF files are now viewable on Windows, Macintosh, Linux and Sun versions of Acrobat or the free Acrobat Reader.  The FileOpen plug-in for Acrobat also works for the current version of Acrobat (8.x) and earlier versions down to Acrobat 4.05.

Standard Technology encrypted PDF titles will not open if installed on a shared network file server or if transferred to another computer.

You will need an Internet connection the FIRST TIME YOUR OPEN AND ACTIVATE your e-book.  After activation, your file will be locked to your computer.  An Internet connection is NOT required for subsequent use.  Your file is portable on a laptop, etc.

FileOpen Plug-in for Adobe Acrobat Required:  To view an encrypted Standards Technology LLC PDF file, you must already have either Adobe Acrobat or the free Adobe Reader.  The FileOpen plug-in for Acrobat must be installed on your computer before the PDF book can be viewed.  Before purchasing, please download the "FileOpen" plug-in for Acrobat to your computer. (Please ensure Adobe Acrobat or PDF files on your computer are closed before installing this plug-in.) 

• FileOpen Plug-in Installation/Troubleshooting:  If you are purchasing an encrypted Standards Technology LLC PDF for use on a corporate computer, you may need to contact your local Information Technology group to install the plug-in, as some companies restrict this function.  Please be aware that encrypted Standards Technology LLC PDF files will not work if loaded on a corporate network for shared use.  They are locked and encrypted to your individual computer.
